Heather Phillips Graduates from Mercer University

Heather Phillips of Acworth, Ga., earned a Bachelor of Arts cum laude from the College of Liberal Arts of Mercer University during the May commencement for the University's Macon campus. Mercer President William D. Underwood conferred the degree at the ceremony.

U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss delivered the commencement address at the ceremony, which included more than 3,000 attendees, and more than 500 participants from the College of Liberal Arts, Eugene W. Stetson School of Business and Economics, School of Engineering, Tift College of Education, Townsend School of Music and College of Continuing and Professional Studies.

In all, the University held five ceremonies in May in Savannah, Macon and Atlanta and conferred more than 1,700 bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees.
